Our HONEY

Our picturesque 55-acre farm is home to dense woods, a peaceful creek, and a variety of wildflowers, but our native prairie grasses are Toad Hollow's most important feature. Unlike wildflower honey, which is particularly sweet with floral and fruity notes, our native prairie grass honey is earthy, herbaceous, smooth, and naturally balanced.

TOAD HOLLOW

Farmer Tom acquired Toad Hollow in 2003. He spent many days with his family fishing at the pond, gardening (arguably too many) tomatoes, grilling homemade pizza, and listening to the bullfrogs sing. Tom converted the cornfields into native prairie grasses with the help of Pheasants Forever, and in 2016, he and his brother-in-law, William, introduced beehives to the property.

Tom and William attended the Kelley Bee School and Indiana Bee Conferences. They eventually purchased Italian and Russian Honeybees, both of which are known for their effectiveness in producing quality prairie honey.

More than just bees reside at Toad Hollow! Deer, bobcats, wild turkeys, turtles, snakes, frogs, toads, bald eagles, herons, and even an English Cream Golden Retriever have been spotted roaming the property.
